A/N: Randomly written for Cora (
wintersdancer) in some 10 minutes during our conversation on msn the other day *bricked*

They are ten; Jin's small body is pressed tight against Yu's a lot bigger and scrawny one, both squashed in a narrow space of a wardrobe in the bedroom of Yu's parents. Their breaths smell of chocolate and coke and suspiciously looking colorful candies melted together. Yu curses and tries to push Jin away but it doesn't work. There's no room for moving.
Yu grumbles. "Why do you always have to follow me, Akanishi? It's stupid."
Jin looks up innocently, eyelids flutter. "It's not."
Jin wriggles and his elbow somehow ends up nudging Yu in his stomach, and gets a sharp smack. "Next time, find your own hideout."
The next time though, Jin crawls under a table where Yu has been hiding himself already; and as they start arguing and Yu is trying to push Jin away, Ryo hears the noises and the game is over all too soon.
They are twenty, celebrating Pi's birthday and the evening is great and fun, and Yu is not sure how many rounds of tequila shots got them to this point. He is trying to fit his long limbs into a place where even Ryo would have problems to squeeze himself in. Jin is sitting on his lap, straddling him and facing him, their faces closer than they have been watching each other in the last couple of years. The position is nothing but awkward; but Jin is grinning cheekily and his dazed eyes are sparkling in the dark.
Yu wants to protest and get Jin away, but suddenly there's a sound on the other side of the closed door and they both freeze in their moves.
"Shh," Jin whispers, as if Yu needed a warning. He shuffles on Yu's lap and the friction shouldn't make them gasp but it does, and Jin can see Yu's eyes are wide and dark; and maybe they are not drunk anymore. Completely sober in a matter of heartbeat.
Pi's steps get closer and his grumbling about being the one who has to look for the others when it's his birthday, makes Jin chuckle softly.
His breath is hot on Yu's face.
The next moment Jin leans in and covers the place he thinks Yu's lips could be on the face in the dark in front of him, with his own. It would be either this or biting his own hand to muffle the chuckles that are rising up from his throat, but his hands are trapped somewhere down between his and Yu's body. He doesn’t have much of a choice in the end.
Pi's steps fade somewhere in the other room and there's no need to keep their lips sealed anymore. Jin pulls away, slowly catching up with what happened and his heart is about to stop.
But Yu's arms go around him and squeeze him tight.
He doesn’t want Jin to go anywhere; the place and their awkward, uncomfortable position suddenly being the best moment of Yu’s life so far.
And a single sheepish glance into Jin’s face tells Yu that he is not the only one feeling it that way.
It has taken them countless times of playing hide-and-seek. It has taken them ten years of sharing different hideouts before Yu realizes he doesn't mind Jin following him wherever his feet take him. Jin is not said to go away and find his own spot anymore.
