The notebook was pink and decorated with sparkly hearts and skulls on the front page and Yoko had no idea how could have such a thing got mixed in among his stuff. He found it one morning lying on his table in the dressing room and, luckily, managed to hide it from the curious eyes of his bandmates in the nick of time just when he heard Nishikido-kun opening the door and Ryo’s dark-haired head with tanned face showed at the doorframe. A moment later the other’s showed up as well and the usual bustle of a working day with rehearsals and other obligations soon took all Yoko’s attention away from the said object.

Only until the late afternoon, though, when the work was over and Yoko stumbled upon the notebook once again, fumbling about the insides of the drawer (where he had previously brushed the block off into) for his car keys. Being in the dressing room all alone, Yoko dared to take the notebook out and overlook it thoroughly. Inside the sweetly pink cover the pages were snowy white and blank. No one had ever used it for writing.

Yoko looked around trying to quickly figure out how could have the block – a pink one above all – got to him. It might have been one of Ryo’s jokes, of course it could have been… but Yoko honestly couldn’t imagine Nishikido Ryo going into a store to buy a girly looking school book at all so the thought was swept away immediately.

Sighing, Yoko threw the notebook into his bag and left the room then. He was already a little late for a meeting with friends he had planned for the evening and couldn’t just stay and muse about the little mystery anymore.

Yet the notebook got to be the only thing Yoko could think about on his way through a corridor to an elevator.

Maybe it had ended on his table just by an accident.

A notebook like that, glaringly pink with kind of irritating girly-pseudo-emo stickers all over the cover, wouldn’t have been surely the first of its kind to be found inside the walls of the jimusho building.

Thinking about it, most of the boys in Johnny’s had a twisted thing for skulls, after all.

Or for pink color, Yoko snickered remembering Tegoshi Yuya. The boy seemed to always wear something pink lately. Or at least from what Yoko could have noticed.

But of course he could be wrong as he was so not checking on Tegoshi-kun all the time.

Not at all.

And passing by Kamenashi Kazuya along the way, both slightly bowing a polite greeting, Yoko had to suppress a chuckle because Kamenashi-kun was an example speaking volumes for all, wearing jeans and a pink t-shirt with a big shining skull all over the front.

Yoko was waiting for the elevator, trying hard to think about the upcoming meeting and not about the damn notebook. He was going to throw the useless thing away at the first occasion, seeing the first garbage can on the street. He already had his diary, after all, and even if he hadn’t had, no way in hell would he ever be using a ridiculous one like the pink one inside his bag.

“So you think we should do it?”

Yoko heard a familiar voice coming from around the nearest corner but not able to recognize it first he just kept staring at the shining numbers above the still closed elevator door, the numbers slowly changing as the cabin was approaching his floor.

“I already told you we definitely should,” another voice responded and Yoko tilted his head frowning. He didn’t even notice he had become all ears. He could swear he knew the voices, both of them. It was just hard to connect them with actual faces.

But as the conversation continued, Yoko’s eyes were gradually growing bigger and bigger, almost popping out of his head. Eventually, when the cabin finally arrived and the tingling of the opening door cut the voices off, Yoko silently cursed and regretted he couldn’t stay a little longer to hear more… everything.

As soon as he was sitting inside of his car he pulled out the notebook and fished a pen from the mess of papers and cds and clothes on the back seat.

Suddenly, the block Yoko had considered useless just a moment ago got a completely opposite mission than ending in garbage. Yoko’s hand was pretty much trembling when he set the pen to the first page and started writing, his hand moving as quickly as possible as Yoko was afraid for forgetting even a single word of what he had overheard.

“So you think we should do it?” Kame asked Jin once the other met him in an empty corridor.

It was already late and unless a few laggards the floor where most of the dressing rooms were located was already empty. Kame had met Yokoyama-kun a moment ago but the other seemed to be in a rush so there was no one to actually hear them by now.

He and Akanishi-kun could have met somewhere outside the work, indeed, but because Jin usually went home with Yamapi, neither Jin nor Kame wanted to risk their friend would find out what was going on.

“I already told you we definitely should,” Jin rolled his eyes giving Kazuya a wide encouraging smile.

“But if Yamapi finds out…”

“Come on!” Jin approached the other putting an arm around his slender shoulders. Eighteen-year-old Kamenashi could have grown up and got rid of his ludicrous brushy eyebrows, his hair could have finally got a decent shape and were not sticking out into all possible directions anymore and his voice could have not been cracking already for long, yet sometimes Jin couldn’t but think Kazuya hadn’t changed at all over the years, not in the inside. “Of course he will find out… eventually,” Jin laughed. “But until then I want to have some fun and I want you to be with me, okay?”

Kame bit his lip considering all his options, Yamapi’s wrath and their managers possibly finding out included.

But Jin’s eyes glued to him, pleading, mischievous and somewhat happy about the idea of the two of them being together in this, were not giving Kame any chance to be reasonable.

Even though someone most probably should be at least a bit reasonable here since it was a common fact that Yamashita-kun was not exactly a type to enjoy any eccentric surprises for his birthday – and Jin’s idea of hiring a stripper to dance at Yamapi’s birthday party was, according to Kame’s standards, pretty much far beyond any eccentricity. But since Jin didn’t let anyone to talk him out of it, Kame found himself in a position where he couldn’t but follow.

He couldn’t leave his best friend alone, after all.

“Okay,” Kame finally sighed, defeated, “so we are going to do this. But remember that I told you if someone –anyone – in jimusho found out about you and me and this, we would be pretty much screwed!”

Jin grinned. He had known since the very beginning Kazuya would agree in the end. Yet he was happy, anyway. “Noted.” With that Jin threw himself onto the other one, hugging him tight, almost smashing the smaller body under the weight and sturdiness of his own.

“Hey, are you trying to crush me?” Kame yelped when Jin’s arms wrapped around him, the grip tightening.

“Nope. I’m trying to express my endless love and gratitude, Kame-chan,” Jin smirked.

A tingling sound of a near elevator interrupted the moment and Jin jumped away as quickly as he had moved closer before. He pressed himself against the opposite wall, as far from Kame as possible in the space of the corridor. They both turned their heads at the sound waiting fidgety if someone got off and would be passing by but no one appeared.

Kazuya breathed out, partly in relief and partly releasing the breath he hadn’t noticed holding.

“I am genius, right?” Jin smirked.

“Of course you are,” Kame answered not trying to suppress the sarcasm in his voice anyhow. “Enjoy your brilliancy, baka, because Pi will kill you soon. See you tomorrow.” He gave a slight nod as a good bye and diving both hands into the pockets of his jeans slowly left the other alone, heading home.

~ * ~

Yoko had kept an eye on Akanishi and Kamenashi over the following weeks but to his bitter disappointment, nothing much had happened. (Except for a rumor flying around that Yamashita-kun’s birthday party was pretty wild.) The both of them had been acting as usually, no more secret dates in dark corners around jimusho, sadly.

The pages of the pink block had been gradually filled with short notes about spotting either Jin or Kame waiting in front of the entrance door after work but only occasionally the one they were waiting for was the other. Kame was more than often leaving with Koki-kun while Jin’s company was Yamapi most of the times, or every now and then Ryo.

When the weeks were slowly turning into months, Yoko was almost about to give up and admit he might have overreacted the first time.

But then it happened.

And once again.

After so many pages wasted for minor mentions about Akanishi and Kamenashi having lunch together in the cafeteria inside jimusho or about some glances they were stealing once in a while, Yoko’s hopes raised once again.

Akanishi’s hand around Kamenashi’s shoulders !thumbsup

A week later another one.

Akanishi might have a date this weekend hearts
Thanks Koki-kun for slipping off and telling it aloud in front of everyone peacenosign:D
Could be possibly with Kamenashi !?!?*O*

And finally, one December afternoon, Yoko got the sign he had been already losing hope to ever witness. He was on his way to the dressing room, mostly minding his own business just answering to the greetings of countless of young boys he met along the way as always. Neither the notebook nor the secret mission he was almost about to call off were on his mind at the moment.

Then it was there.

Right in front of his eyes.

Kamenashi’s hand tapped Akanishi’s butt and Akanishi, instead of lashing out at the younger one for his daring and impudence – which would have been clearly the right and natural reaction – just grinned and poked Kamenashi at a shoulder. Neither of them minded the rest of the group gathered around them. Akanishi-kun even seemed to be saying something but from the distance Yoko couldn’t hear a word. Not that is was of any importance for him, though.

Kamenashi’s hand. On Akanishi’s butt. Period.

Who would need words?

For a second, Yoko was just standing at a spot trying to process what he had just seen.

Well, Kamenashi-kun was well-known for his habit of touching other people’s butts (Ueda-kun could tell, right?) but this was different. Because this time Kamenashi-kun whacked Akanishi-kun.

Everything was simply different when the two involved were Kamenashi and Akanishi.

Not waiting for anything anymore, Yoko hurried to the dressing room, snatched his bag with the pink notebook lying cluttered up with some stuff at the very bottom and found himself a quiet place to make an entry into the block. While flicking over the pages he glimpsed the date of the last time he had written something. It had been already more than a month – but the waiting had totally paid off.

NOW !!!!!!

Patience had never been Kazuya’s strong point, no matter how much it could have looked like that at times. The worst moments were when they had to wait not being able to affect the time anyway. Like now, for example. A car was going to pick them up and take them to an outdoor filming location but with the usual afternoon traffic in the whole Tokyo the pick-up was – as expected – late.

First, Kame had tried keeping calm. He had been sitting on the floor next to Koki but with Koki having some exams at school coming up soon the conversation hadn’t been as amusing and light as Kame wanted. Sighing, he patted Koki’s shoulder and stood up. He looked around, eyes narrowed and a mischievous smirk plucked his lips once Kame glimpsed Taguchi and Ueda entangled in a conversation about something obviously funny regarding their chuckling every now and then.

Kame came closer, very slowly and careful not to draw their attention.

Finally being close enough he raised a hand ready to flap Taguchi and give a solid punch at his back. Quickly looking back over his shoulder Kame found Koki showing him a ‘thumbs up’ – because if someone knew how to enjoy picking at Taguchi – other than Jin, of course – then it no doubt was Koki. And only god knows why this time Koki was not the one having the idea first.

Kame grinned at Koki and his hand was already moving towards completely oblivious Taguchi when Jin jumped in out of nowhere all of sudden. He threw his whole weight against Taguchi’s back grabbing at the other’s shoulders and shrieked out at his ear frightening Junno to death.

“Oi!”

Taguchi jerked quickly turning around – only to meet with Jin’s another yelp; that was when Kame’s palm landed on Jin’s butt.

Both Junno and Jin looked at Kame who was snickering in rather mean joy as much surprised as the other two, even though for a different reason. Although Akanishi hadn’t been the initial target, hitting him instead of Junno might be even better.

“Sorry,” Kame simpered sweetly.

“Careful, Kame-chan, or I could bring it up at the next Shounen Club and after that no one would ever doubt how lonely your hand can really get,” Jin smirked reaching for the younger one and poking at his shoulder.

But not even all the threats in the world could spoil Kazuya’s obvious fun. Especially not those that were not meant for real.

AkaKame.

The damn nick had been nagging Yoko for ages. And with time he gradually forgot thinking about Akanishi and Kamenashi because the two of them simply became AkaKame on his mind.

Yoko went as far as admitting that Takizawa-kun was a freaking genius for coming up with the nick. Could it be that Takizawa actually knew something Yoko hadn’t found out about yet? For what he knew, AkaKame might have existed already for ages, even ever since Okinawa or the times around – which would have explained Tackey’s involvement in the whole case. He had been the favorite senpai of both Kamenashi and Akanishi back then, after all, and had been around them most of the time…

If there was something going on between them, Takizawa must have known.

Since the thought had come across Yoko’s mind, pages of the notebook were filled with countless assumptions and suspicions about Takizawa’s role in ‘The AkaKame Case’.

Yoko even decided to treat the senpai a lunch to have a chance asking a few questions which could be crucial for his conclusion.

Well, he had already had a more than convincing collection of magazine clippings with either Jin’s or Kame’s interviews, he even managed to take a few photos of them together (being a paparazzi turned out not being such a fun Yoko had always thought it could be, though; he ended up with a cracked shoulder and almost sprained an ankle during the process of taking rather blurred yet precious photos), but the most important part of his evidence was, of course, his own eye-witnessing and overhearing. Those last two couldn’t be confirmed anyhow yet Yoko was proud about the entries containing what he had seen or heard the most.

Ever since ‘The Butt Incident’ Yoko had been vigilant as never before, attentively recording every contact between AkaKame.

He had been interrogating Nishikido-kun during every occasion because among all the people Yoko was close to, Ryo was the one being a good friend also with Akanishi. This had to end up soon, though, because Ryo started giving him inquiring glances and the last thing Yoko wanted was becoming suspicious – or even worse, obvious – to his surroundings.

The momentary disappointment caused by losing an important source of information was washed away in January and Yoko was going to keep praising the day forever as a little late Christmas for him.

He was in the studio to film the newest episode of Shounen Club. They were about to start in any moment and he was just hanging around in the backstage repeating his opening lines when he heard Kamenashi’s voice.

“Just say it, Jin. No one will hear you here. Just me.”

A moment later Akanishi’s quiet mumbling robbed Yoko of his breath. He even gasped and had to support himself against the nearest wall not to sag down to the floor, overwhelmed and slightly dizzy.

Iloveyou.

“Here you are!” Hina whooped surprising Yoko who hadn’t seen him coming. “They want to start already. Where the hell you think you were going?”

Yoko threw a nervous look at the direction the voices had come from before and quickly took his leave joining his bandmate and trying to get the both of them away as soon as possible. Him overhearing the intimate moment between Akanishi and Kamenashi was already more than enough. Anyone other would be too much. A part of him felt naturally guiltily for hearing the confession – but then there was the part that was jumping in happiness right now because –

“This sucks!” Jin grunted kicking a leg of the nearest chair, hands deep inside pockets of his dark costume pants. “Completely and utterly sucks!” He had been strolling back and forth for already good twenty minutes driving his best friend mad.

Kame was sitting on a window-sill swinging his legs just above the floor and watching his annoyed friend.

Jin had been peevish ever since they got to read the script for today’s show and so far none of Kame’s attempts at cheering the other up had helped. The stumbling block was the Image Battle 3000 segment with Kanjani8 members and the audience voting about which of the KAT-TUN members fitted into random questions regarding different kinds of actions shown in front of a woman.

From what Kame knew Jin had always hated this kind of stuff. Mostly because the script for such parts had never been complete and they had to improvise – which was one of Jin’s weak points. Even Taguchi could extemporize better than Jin and everybody knew it.

“Well,” Kame shrugged, quickly searching for something to comfort the other, “there is always a chance they won’t pick you, right?” the boy suggested, not actually convinced himself, though. These audience polls were always too easy to predict.

Jin sighed, finally sitting onto a table in the middle of the room. “Yeah, sure. Because the whole auditorium will want to hear Nakamaru saying that.”

“Hey! They could want to hear it from me,” Kame pouted.

The truth was, though, even Kame knew well that among the six of them it was Jin more than anyone else to be chosen by a hall full of girls during the particular part of the game they were talking about now.

Jin sighed once again, louder this time, and looked up at Kazuya raising an eyebrow, doubting.

“Okay, so they will not want to hear me saying ‘I love you’,” Kame rolled his eyes, renouncing. He chuckled at the agonized groan Jin let out. “Come on, stop it, Akanishi. It’s not the end of the world, after all. It’s not like you have never said it and it doesn’t mean anything, anyway. Just another silly game. We have been through things like this a million time before already.” Kame lowered his eyes not looking at Jin while he was talking, the pattern on the floor suddenly more interesting than anything else.

“But saying things like that shouldn’t be just – let me quote – a ‘silly game’,” Jin snapped back right away not thinking about his words. “To say those words you should really mean it and not just lavish them to entertain a bunch of screaming girls.” Jin frowned. His hands were rubbing over his thighs, nervous and stressed out.

They stayed in silence for a moment. Kame had taken a breath to react but decided not to, eventually.

“Do you wanna…” Kame cleared his throat after a while and regretted speaking up right away. He should seriously start thinking first and talking then, he mentally smacked himself, but it was too late since his voice breaking the silence had caught Jin’s attention. Kame bit his lip. “I don’t know… maybe… you wanna practice it?”

“Eh?”

Kame shrugged his shoulders, yet again. “You can say it here… of course it wouldn’t be like you were saying it to me, not at all,” he shook his head vehemently, maybe a bit too much, just to assure the other his words had no way an implicit double meaning. “Just… you know, you can try how it would sound or… something.” Kame hissed realizing he was so not making any sense at the moment and that he was just rambling.

“That’s lame,” Jin mumbled lowering his head to hide the blush he felt budding on his cheeks.

“I know. Sorry.”

“Okay,” Jin looked up shyly through his fluttering eyelashes and thick bangs of his dark hair falling down into his face. “But don’t look at me. Turn around.”

Kame felt like chucking because seeing Jin like this was really rare and he could remember only a very few occasions when he had seen his friend acting all bashfully and sheepishly like now. But he obeyed and turned around facing the window.

Yet he could sense Jin was still hesitating.

“Just say it, Jin. No one will hear you here. Just me,” Kame encouraged the other. Jin could be really cute at time.

Iloveyou,” Jin finally gabbled out hiding his face in his palms. He felt ashamed as never before and no way in hell was he ever going to admit this was actually the first time he had said those words.

A while later when the audience really chose Jin as the one they wanted to hear ‘I love you’ from and Yoko – with a little help from Hina – had practically forced the boy into saying it aloud, no one but Yoko himself knew it was not as much to entertain the auditory but for Yoko himself to actually witness for real what he had just overheard before in the backstage.

For an AkaKame fanboy like him, the moment was a true heaven.

When the news about KAT-TUN finally debuting leaked out and the thrill and suspense were almost tangible, filling the air all around the jimusho, Yoko was most probably the only one feeling down.

Up till now it had been rather easy to follow both Akanishi and Kamenashi and keep eyeing their every move but after the debut KAT-TUN would have their own obligations and wouldn’t be participating at the collective projects as much as before anymore.

Yoko was torn up.

He himself knew more than well what a kicky feeling it was officially debuting and becoming an independent group. Wishing KAT-TUN never got such a chance would be too selfish, even Yoko had to admit it. However, being able to come up with reasonable explanations couldn’t erase the disappointment, anyway.

He kept carrying the notebook along, secretly hidden in his bag. Not anymore was he afraid of someone spotting the pink cover, but he couldn’t imagine anyone finding out about the content.

That would be awkward.

Not that there was much to write about anymore, though. Once again AkaKame seemed to be drawing apart, more than any other time in the past. As far as Yoko knew there was no fight between them but they were obviously not sticking to the ‘I love you’ phase of their relationship either.

More and more often Yoko spotted each of them wandering around the jimusho building alone.

Kamenashi was a hard-worker devoting all his time to work. Sometimes Yoko couldn’t but wonder whether the boy knew how to relax at all. On the other hand, as Yoko knew from Ryo, Jin liked having fun and despite his diligence the work had never been the most important part of his life.

Might have it been their different characters and approaches to life what made them drift away?

Before Yoko realized it, the reality proved his theory right.

“W-we… I have to go, Jin,” Kamenashi’s shaking voice said to the open door in front of him. His hands were trailing lifelessly along his tensed body, fists clenched. “This… we’ll talk about it later. I’m sorry.” Kame slowly looked up, rather guilty.

Yoko froze hidden behind a corner not even daring to peek out, no matter how curious he was.

“Kazu–” Jin pleaded coming out of the room and reaching for the other to hold him back but Kame made a step backwards determined to not let Jin touch him. “I just… I mean it, okay? Everything.”

“Jin, I have to go now. I’m sorry.”

Yoko didn’t have time to disappear in a good time and he just stood there stunned and paralyzed when Kamenashi-kun quickly passed by, drowned into his own thoughts which only him and Jin knew what were about. Yoko pulled through unnoticed but there was nothing to be happy about.

He just felt like something important had ended.

Later the day Yoko found his pink notebook and with a sad sigh opened it at the next empty page. His hand was once again shaking, but unlike the other times when the trembling was out of a tingling excitement, today his agitation was for different reasons.

AkaKame were in a fight.

And he sighed again, writing a short entry. He tried with all his might not to glance at the opposite page with a clipping of an interview with Akanishi-kun published in a magazine last month. Jin had been talking about the importance of friendship and about how much the other members of KAT-TUN meant to him…

AkaKame forever heart1

Neither Kazuya nor Jin was sure about how exactly it had started.

But later, when they both finally admitted that what had happened between them was so much more than just a short circuit caused by tiredness and exhaustion, such details didn’t matter at all anymore.

As well as none of them really cared about who had made the first move. Who had been the one getting closer, leaning in and for one reason or another – or without any reason at all – placed his lips onto the other’s ones.

All they remembered was the softness of the other’s lips and the surprise shining out of their wide open eyes staring at each other. The last time they had seen each other from such a proximity had been years ago, on a sunny morning when they had woken up all tensed and aching after spending a night in a small tent on a beach, just before the staff pulled down the zipper sealing their green cocoon, wishing them good morning.

Things had changed ever since.

Unlike the morning at Okinawa, today Jin cut off also the last remaining space between them and pressed his lips onto Kazuya’s, just slightly first, unsure, timid, afraid.

Unlike the morning at Okinawa, today Kazuya didn’t get frightened and leaning forward a bit met Jin’s lips halfway, smiling into the shy, hesitating kiss, surprised, flutteringly happy.

Once assured Kame wouldn’t pull away Jin responded to the smile by curling his own lips up as well and pressed his lips against Kame’s a bit further. The soft, velvety pillows squeezed against each other before Kazuya eventually dared to experimentally trace the line of Jin’s still closed mouth with the tip of his tongue, tasting a weird mix of bitter melon juice and chocolate-flavored pocky.

Opening his mouth Jin invited the other to taste more of him, his own tongue already set up for its own curious mission.

Kame silently moaned as Jin’s tongue poked his own, an electric shock running down his spine made him shiver all over.

Only then Kame pulled away, eyes wide open and flabbergasted by what had just happened. He was eyeing Jin, blinking a few times then tilting his head (as if a different angle could help him understand), and finally finding the breath he didn’t know he had lost Kame brought a hand up to his lips slightly touching them.

Jin nervously shrugged.

Among all the things he had been expecting to happen when he and Kazuya had ended in this room, kissing was definitely the last of all the options.

“Is it…?”

“I…I’ve just remembered I have…an interview,” Kame suddenly blurted out realizing he was not ready to talk at all yet. Most probably not to the interviewer and definitely not to Jin.

Frowning at the sudden change in the younger one, Jin slowly nodded. The kiss had taken him by surprise as well as Kazuya and Jin, being pretty much who he was, was the last one to have any answers at the moment but all his senses were screaming at him to not let Kazuya go out through the door. Yet Jin didn’t even try to stop the other from moving to the exit, entirely relying not on the senses but – as always – on his instincts.

And his instincts were telling him Kazuya needed time to process what had happened. Time to count all pros and cons.

“Kame…”

Kazuya opened the door turning around at the doorframe. “W-we… I have to go, Jin,” Kame gulped watching his feet yet he couldn’t miss the pain-stricken expression twisting Jin’s face. What had happened couldn’t be taken back and sooner or later they would have to sit and talk about it. They would have to find some answers but right now the confusing emotional mess in Kazuya’s head was of no avail. He was hardly able to remember where he was supposed to have the interview. “This… we’ll talk about it later. I’m sorry,” he added not sure what exactly to be sorry about.

Jin took a step closer but face to face the panic springing up in Kazuya’s already enough terrified eyes he forced himself to stop. “Kazu–” He hissed in helplessness seeing Kame shied even at the sound of his given name. “I just… I mean it, okay?” Jin felt a sudden need to assure the other. “Everything.”

Everything. The promises about them being friends, about Jin caring, about Kazuya being the most important person in Jin’s life. Long years of friendship. The kiss. Simply everything.

“Jin, I have to go,” Kame apologized scratching his lower lip with his teeth. “I’m sorry.”

But his lips twitched in a hint of smile and that was a sign enough for Jin to know everything was going to be fine.

They were going to be fine. No matter what.

A few hours later Kame’s working day was finally over and the boy was looking forward to coming home and drowning himself into a bath tube full of fluffy and relaxing foam. The last thing he was expecting was Jin waiting for him in the dressing room.

They had never get to the promised talk about the kiss though, too busy with another one.

Sometimes things simply don’t work up the way one would wish for.

And eventually, Yoko had to admit that ‘The AkaKame Case’ was one of them. He hadn’t seen Akanishi and Kamenashi together for ages, they weren’t talking to each other but for shows or interviews, and during those times they were just strictly following the script.

No more secret meetings in the dark corners and empty rooms around the jimusho, no more stolen glances when no one was looking…

During those months of no contact between the two of them Yoko even turned himself into a spy of some kind for a while, secretly following Akanishi on his ways home from work but the only company (if there was any at all) was usually Yamapi; other time Yoko managed to sneak into KAT-TUN’s dressing room finding Jin’s phone and quickly scrolled through the contact list and message box but again, Kamenashi’s name was listed as a working contact and there were no private – or actually any – messages from him saved.

Yoko tried at least keeping track of what either Jin or Kame were doing but like that the notebook soon started to look like a diary of Kamenashi fooling around with Koki-kun – which was, of course, something intolerable for a hard-die AkaKame fanboy like Yoko.

Gradually Yoko stopped browsing back through the pages of the notebook and drowning himself into the painful memories of the better, happier times of the past.

All what had left were his memories and the precious entries no one could take away from him. They were an unshakeable proof there once used to be something between those two and Yoko was glad he could have been a part of it. Maybe just a little, unimportant part, always watching from afar and never meddling in but he was sure he did it right. He gave the boys their well-earned and deserved privacy so they could enjoy their time together and the bond growing between them. And if the bond grew weaker eventually, or even broke completely (though Yoko wanted to believe that didn’t happen), who was he to force them into acting against their own will… and heart?

Finally finding peace with his shaken heart Yoko decided to leave ‘The AkaKame Case’ alone for good. The notebook was still half empty, though, and moreover full of records Yoko was still not ready to throw away completely. He kept carrying it along even when his interest in AkaKame was long time gone. The pink notebook had been the most important part of him for so long it was not easy to get rid of it just like that.

And he couldn’t but praise the Providence for having the block at hand a few months later (not long after Akanishi had announced his hiatus confirming the death of AkaKame once and for all) after randomly running into Tegoshi Yuya and Masuda Takahisa practically making out in the NewS’ dressing room while he was looking for Nishikido-kun.

And just like that, the life of Yokoyama Yu got a new purpose.

Days when their working obligations led them to completely opposite ends of Tokyo, or even one of them had to stay away overnight, were more than annoying yet somewhat bearable. They could always at least talk over a phone in the evenings. It had never been more than two or three nights, anyway, and after the return they would always make it up for the time spent apart.

Surprisingly, the worst were days when they were working together, not allowed to get closer, though.

The deal they had closed the morning after waking up in the same bed for the first time, both a little hesitant about looking at the other after what had happened between them at night yet at the same time incredibly happy, was clear and as the both of them agreed, for their own good.

It had been obvious ever since the beginning the changed terms of their relationship wouldn’t be accepted and they would be either punished or forced to end it and never talk to each other again except for work, most likely both of it.

So they sat down and made up a plan.

Well, technically speaking, they didn’t sit down but were lying on a bed, Jin leaning against the headboard and Kazuya resting on his chest teasingly playing with a dark nipple and kissing it once in a while, but the making-up-a-plan part was accurate. Eventually, after Jin’s crazy ideas about sneaking away and becoming a singing duo in the New York streets (which Kame believed were not serious and Jin left him at it) and a round of morning more-a-making-out-than-making-up-a-plan they finally decided to keep everything as secret as possible. Knowing each other more than well, none of them would have been able to keep his hands away so the plan turned out to be them not being close on public at all.

Out of the obtrusive sight of public, though, nothing much had changed between them and if something had then only for the better.

The already strong bond of their friendship had melted with the newly found feelings and nothing could break it; not all the rumors about potential girlfriends turning up once in a while, not even the six months Jin spent overseas. The only thing changed after Jin’s return was his English finally becoming understandable (Kazuya pointed the fact only once and ended up sore for the whole following day, though, since Jin rendered the remark the way his English must have sucked before and took it personally).

“Are you sure you want to leave?” Jin whispered seductively, nuzzling his nose against Kazuya’s cheek. His hands were leisurely, yet kind of possessively, wound around the other’s waist peacefully resting on his hips, fingers buried in the back pockets of Kazuya’s jeans. Every now and then Jin groped Kazuya’s butt just to make the other moan into their kisses. He loved how Kame’s body was always responding to his every touch, writhing, arching, pliable.

Kame had a hand placed at Jin’s lower back gently caressing the soft skin under the t-shirt just above the waistband of Jin’s jeans, while the other hand was up entwined in Jin’s hair, playfully toying with the dark strands. Jin still didn’t get his hair cut after coming back home and somewhat, Kame thought he would miss it someday, all messy and fuzzed no matter how much the stylists could have tried to give it a decent shape.

He felt Jin’s hot breath against his face, slowly trailing down along his jawline then neck, and unwittingly tilted his head backwards offering Jin more skin to touch.

At the moments like this, Kame hated his full schedule, as much as he actually loved his work in general.

“No,” Kame brought Jin’s head back for another kiss, “don’t wanna… but have to.” He pecked Jin’s lips once again and grudgingly sneaked out of the embrace adjusting his messed up clothes.

Looking up with a wide smile he met Jin’s strangely thoughtful look – something he was not expecting at all.

“Kazu?”

The soft tone of Jin’s voice while saying his name made Kame’s already wide smile even wider and the boy slightly shivered at a fluttering feeling coiling around his spine.

“Hm?”

“I… I love you.”

The shivers immediately turned into a hurricane of fuzzy emotions whirling all around and Kame even forgot to take a next breath.

He couldn’t quite comprehend why now and all of sudden but Jin was offering him his heart and Kame didn’t know any better way to accept it than wrapping his arms around Jin’s neck and kissing him deeply and passionately, trying to put over all the feelings he had for the other.

And only a long moment later, when they both remembered they needed breathing, Kazuya silently chuckled into Jin’s neck.

“You already told me once, remember?”

Jin pulled away, confused and frowning before the realization hit him. “Hey! It was not for you back then! You said yourself it was not like that!”

Kame nonchalantly shrugged his shoulders, his eyes sparkling. “Well, that’s your version,” he smirked.

Jin pouted in response yet didn’t dwell on his hurt pride for long promptly reaching for Kazuya and pulling the little tease back for another kiss.

~ THE END ~

---

This fic has been done already a few weeks ago and ready to be posted for Nori-chan's birthday... sadly lj got another attack and totally ruined my plans on pampering Wifey-chan *pouts* Yet I hope everyone could enjoy the story nevertheless ^__^v

Also, for those who haven't done it yet and feel like reading yet another crack, check on my previous fic (Almost) Heroes

Have a nice day/weekend!!

*glomps you* GINAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-CHAAAAAAAAAN~~!!!!

OMG~ You are definitely the most awesome Wifey-chan ever and I LOVE YOU SO FUCKING MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ♥♥♥♥♥♥

I don't even know what to say, I swear!!! The whole idea is so original and awesome and just really really funny..!! I loved how you mixed Yoko's overhearing with the actual situation and how as everything turned out to be more and more real between Jin and Kame, Yoko actually found himself thinking AkaKame was dead....

But then, of course, even in your crack you can't help bringing that touch of drama that makes everything real... That scene between Jin and Kame and the kiss... How Kame reacted, how Jin wanted to tal about it even when he didn't have any kind of answer about it, but he let go of Kame just because he knew the other needed time to process what happened... How, in reality, they both just needed a little bit of time and when they saw each other again later that day words were not longer necessary between them... That was definitely my favorite part, Gina...

I liked how you actually nailed the way Yoko writes in his j-web xDD Though you probably added too many emojis should I blame Kame-chan's influence for it? xDD But also, the fact that he let go of AkaKame after his time of mourning and then changed it for TegoMassu xDD That was hillarious, especially beause I just saw a show where he and Hina interviewed Massu and there was a VTR from Tego-nyan xDD

Anyway, I probably didn't say even half of the comment this lovely fic really deserved, but rest assure to the fact that I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT and that I still can't believe you took your time to write this for me ♥

*hugs tight*

I love fanboy Yoko in any shape or form, and you wrote him perfectly here. I love his change of OTP so quickly XD
I love the way that although he gave up, the story keeps going with an actual relationship. And how you incorporated KAT-TUN events into evidence was awesome ^^
Thoroughly enjoyed reading, thanks for sharing!

Yeah, of course the story keeps going no matter who stick to it and who gives up *shrugs* The story will stay here forever..
♥ sneaking the real events into my fics is my weakness xDD I think I can hardly work without putting some hints here and there all the time xDD

I hate eljay T___T It aint allow me to post my comment T___T (from time to time only)

awww~ what to say about this? This is what I often think about Akame's relationship (to ease my misery of a desperate fangirl of course T____T) I do believe this is the best way to believe, that their distance in public is the key for the intimacy in private life. Fangirls can sacrifice for akame happiness (but no way as hell I believe that Akame is dead. AKAME IS FOR E VERRRRRRRRRRR~~~)

Plotting aside, I really like the idea of you insert Yoko's witness with a real Akame interaction, which is, hilarious enough, always total the opposite with Yoko's invented evidence XDD~ When he's in the utmost misery to think that Akame is dead, was actually alive like ever. I also think that this is true v____v like, right now, true TRUE TRUE TRUE T____T DAMN YOU JIN!!!!!!

From: [identity profile] moon-catcher.livejournal.com
lj made me wait a week before letting me post this >__< I think he didn't want all Yoko's evidence to leak out xDD

to ease my misery of a desperate fangirl of course Somehow, I really like how you put this xDD
Because I'm pretty much the same; always believing they just keep a distance for being told to do it while in reality they have a nice (friendly or more) relationship *___* and that is not going to die any time soon

The opposite of Yoko's believes and Akame's relationship here was the first idea I had for the fic, to give it some structure of something..

>__< right now, Jin is just really good at hiding the truth *stubborn*

Ah, meticulous stalker fanboy Yoko is such an inspiration for all. XD Your fic was so nice to relax to after a long day of work. :)

Kame nonchalantly shrugged his shoulders, his eyes sparkling. “Well, that’s your version,” he smirked.

So much love for this line, btw. Considering Yoko's not quite accurate summations of Akakame events. <3 Nice way to wrap up the fic.

omg that's awesome!!! Makes me remember that Yoko is AkaKame's number 1 fan/shipper in Johnny's. He definitely surpass Tackey! Anyways for not knowing him that much or so I think from what I believed you said before... or my memories are just failing me again /shot you really portrayed him accurately. I found it cute though the emojis on the diary lol Though I don't know if he's the type to use emojis but it suits as an AkaKame fan!! xD

I just found it funny how when Yoko was certain there was something, there was actually nothing, or rather Jin and Kame didn't go crossed that line, and when there was actually something, he believed that AkaKame was death... Omg poor Yoko LOL On the other hand, I love how you first showed us the Yoko's version and then what really happened xD

I loved the slight bit of drama you had there with that moment they finally went beyond their friendship. I just love how you described it and just how it actually happened, like it just had to happen. Kazuya was super cute even though I felt a little sad for Jin at first but then the hint of the smile was just so much love and yeah, conversation not necessary, just kiss more *get bricked*

The end was super sweet... though I still feel a little bad for Yoko lol But I guess what's make us fangirl 'crazy' and attracts us so much to this pair is also the mystery that surrounded them and their story right? So he should survive LOL

Oh and before I forgot "Kamenashi’s hand. On Akanishi’s butt. Period." WIN! xD

Thank you so much Gina. I really enjoyed reading this one. Your sister LOVED IT TO BITS even though she was once again late /shot

Date: 2011-08-04 10:44 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] moon-catcher.livejournal.com
lol yeah, that's me, writing about Yoko without knowing anything at all about him xDD the same applies to anyone else than Akame as well xDD I knew he was 'shipping' Akame but took me quite a lot of time before actually seeing his pics or anything *bricked* But Wifey-chan has done a great job with introducing me also other boys from JE... Gina needs to be educated in some ways *shot*

Yeah, that was pretty much the point of the fic. The fact that what we see doesn't have to be the truth. And Yoko here was pretty much like 'we are', only overhearing bits of conversations and seeing some interactions without knowing the background of them... and eventually making his own story the way he wanted to see it.
I wanted to show both the versions... to *cough*make it funny*cough* and now I can only hope I suceeded.

lol as I said already Nori-chan, I really do my best to learn how to write crack but a little drama or something always sneaks in and it can't be helped no matter what I do *pouts* But on the other hand, like that the story kind of sounds believable, right?

well, I'm sure Yoko will survive he has TegoMass, now, after all O__o and without anyone knowing it, Akame will survive as well. Because you are damn right. *nods* what makes them the best pair ever is all the mystery around them and all those blank spots in their relationship we will never be able to fill in and like that learn the whole truth..

xDDD Kamenashi's lonely hand couldn't be missing here *laughs* And well, Kame's hand on Jin's butt doesn't need any further explanation, ne? *bricked*

*hugs* Lovely Sis can't be late!! ♥

I wanted to use my Powerpuff icon as well but this one fits to the topic xDD
